Approval of minutes: Motion was made, and seconded to approve the minutes of the July 7, 2015 meeting. Motion Carried

Officers' reports:Commander The picnic we finally had went very well however attendance is down. But those that were there had a good time and had no crashes. Tom will send out a notice on Wed about the next one. If you attend, please bring something to pass.

Weekend flyers have had a bad time this year with the rain (Flooding). Many retirees are going out on Monday’s and flying electric planes as they require less runway to take off and land. We are looking at the possibility of having winter flying. More information will be forthcoming. 

Vice Commander We will be having elections this fall so if you are interested in Vice Commander, Secretary, or first year trustee, let us know. 

Training Training is going good. We still have a few trainees to go. This week looks good so come out on Wed for more training. We have had a good number of solo tests completed this year. 

Treasurer Treasurer’s report was read and accepted as read. 

Trustees Matt was out at the field the other day and a couple of people were flying. After they left a couple of Rangers showed up and watched Matt fly. Then they disappeared and he locked the gate which meant they were locked in. His question is, “Is this what we should do?” The answer was yes.

Old business: At this time there is no starting date as to when the Park System will start, however they are cutting trails for the archery targets. The issues they have is the same as our, rain and flooding. They want to be finished by the end of August. They do have some orange and blue flags put up. Please do not move these. There were quite a few questions raised concerning this subject, but most could not be answered completely as we just don’t know what all is going to happen. On a different note, children are coming out to the field from houses to out north. They will come right up to the northern edge and stand there to watch. Please be aware they may be there when you are flying.

New business:
There is a problem which will be oncoming as the park comes in. That is with quads. The concern is someone, club member or not would cause an aircraft to divert his flight we would lose our field. While this could be any model aircraft the main concern is with quads as they can be flown by the man off the street.

We will be making a small change to the Field Rules to protect the club in this area. Rule 29 will now read; “No flying at this field without certification from the Flying Tigers Radio Control Model Club or accompanied by an instructor of the Club.” Basically to be certified, one must be a member of the club and complete the solo requirements. In addition, while it may not be a rule, no first person view (FPV) of any kind is permitted to fly.

Show and Tell: Jim showed us his performance aircraft unlimited 40%, 103” wingspan Extra. He has been flying it for about a month now and had a few problems with the engine. He has replaced the engine until DA can figure out what is wrong. He is using a JR X-buss in the setup with Jr brushless servos. The rudder has Monster torque servers using a push push set up. The set up provides over a 1000 ounces of torque. It has a tube exhaust and the pipes he is using now are the best he has ever heard. He bought a two ounce tank that his vent from the main tank runs to and from there vent line goes outside the airframe. This prevents any gas leakage inside the plane while doing extreme maneuvers. He added baffling to direct more airflow across the engine cooling fins. His baffling keeps the engine cool and the difference between cylinders and almost nothing. He is very pleased with the flying characteristics of this aircraft.

Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.
