Number of members in attendance: 25 Visitors: 2

Approval of minutes: Motion was made, and seconded to approve the minutes of the May 5, 2015 meeting. Motion Carried

Officers' reports:
Commander We sold the old Ford tractor for $1200 and we sold the old bush hog for $450 for a total of $1650 to be put towards the new tractor we bought last year. Many thanks to Tom Haupricht for all his efforts to make these sales. He put in quite a lot of his time. When the buyer came for the tractor, it started right up. First time it has done that for quite a while. We still have the roller and we are checking how good this will work on the field. We are concerned about the thread on one of the rear tires on the new tractor. It is possible to cur the thread off but not sure we will do that.

We are going to have the field sprayed to kill the weeds. We have noticed people are leaving trash at the field. Please remember to take your trash home. If you are there and see some be the nicer guy and take it with you. This trash could be from individuals that are not members. If you notice a non-member leaving trash, please be polite and don’t say anything to them but just take it with you when you leave.

Vice Commander XFC (Extreme Flight Championship) in Muncie starts on Thursday of next week. This is at the AMA site which includes the Museum. It will be open and is a nice place to visit. The cost is minimal at around $10.

Training: We have 3 out of 4 good training days in the month of May. Tomorrow looks good but there may be a little wind. If you need training please sign up with Scott Arnett so he can put you on the email list. If you need an airplane checked out, for whatever reason, the training night is a great time to have it looked at. It can be flown and trimmed out by one of our trainers. Forget you ego and make sure everything is working correctly.

Treasurer Treasurer’s report was read and accepted as read.

Trustees There is an internet site called Café Press. We will upload our logo and they will print a-one-of or more of hats, shirts, mugs etc. You can go there and purchase one and the club will get a small percentage of the cost. The cost may be about 10% higher although your cost may be the same or possibly less than the past Club prices. This will prevent the club from tying up money in inventory. John auctioned off an old red sweatshirt.

The Monday morning meetings at Panera Bread on Airport Highway is still ongoing. It starts a 9 am. All are welcome to attend this time for coffee.

Old business: Great Planes is making it difficult to buy the buddy box cables for the Tactic radios. It may be necessary for the club to purchase a Tactic radio for training. However we are still working on getting the proper cables for these radios. The good point with the cables it will let any other radio to be a buddy box. We want to go with the cables as that is the best cost for the club. In the time being, we will try to have other members that have Tactic radios be there for training.

Don’t forget the Tom terrific picnics. June 28 is the next one. The Club will provide the meat and a few snacks. You can provide any extras and your own drinks.

We have not made a decision of when to replace the posts in the shelter. They need to be done before fall. There is a concern about if the posts are in concrete. No one is sure about this. We will be looking at replacing them sometime in September.

New business: There was no new business, so I would like to use this space to welcome a new member into the Club. Welcome Scott Mosher to the Flying Tigers Radio Control Model Club.

Show and Tell: Ray Foley came in possession of a couple of batteries for a motorized scooter (Hover Round.) These are new and he is willing to sell them for a small price. If you are interested, contact him.

Jim Hugg let us see his new FMS P51. It is a nice looking plane with 11 or 12 servos. He demonstrated how the landing gear retracts work. The stock setup pulls around 630 watts with the 4 blade prop. He tried a 2 blade prop and it pulled 480 watts. Jim is anxious to get her in the air to see how she flies.

Tom Haupricht had an ultra-stick he bought from Tom at TNT Landing Gear. He converted it from a glow to an electric. It is a 40 size plane. He said it only has 4 servos in it. In order to use a smaller prop, (12X10) he used a higher kv motor and a 4 cell battery to spin it at a higher rpm. With this set-up it is pulling around 900 watts at full throttle. Most of the time he flies at half throttle to help keep things cooerl. He was impressed at the way it flew.

Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
