Number of members in attendance: 23 Visitors: 2

Approval of minutes: Motion was made, and seconded to approve the minutes of the Feb. 3, 2015 meeting. Motion Carried

Officers' reports:

Commander .We received the new agreement with the metro parks and they are still working on the 10 year agreement. It is not a big deal as the wording will be as it is now except for the length. They can still give us a 90 day notice to vacate.

Vice Commander Recker Road has passed a new regulation this year. All engines over 100cc must have a 3 blade prop to reduce noise pollution. The reason for this regulation is to help keep the neighbors happy by reducing the noise they hear. The Flying Tigers is located in a less rural area so we need to be conscious of our noise foot print. Even smaller 40 and 50cc engines can be loud to local neighbors if we are not careful.

Training Training will not be starting for a while, but any new members that want to be trained, should contact Scott Arnett to be put on the list. Training will be on Wednesday nights once it gets started.

Treasurer Treasurer’s report was read and accepted as read. Budget for the year of 2015 was presented to the membership. The new budget was approved as presented.

Trustee’s An audit was done to the financial records and everything looked good. The password for the website where taxes are paid has been transferred to Herschel.

Old business: Reminder the field opening is April 18, 19. We will try to get the seeding done at this time. This is depending on the weather. If it looks like we will not have the water, we will wait until fall to do the seeding. In either case the flight stands and other necessary work will be done on the field as well as a road cleanup.

Tom is planning on a “Garage sell at Louis Berringers house. If you have anything for sale, bring it there. Time as not been determined but members will be informed through the web page email system.

Rick Lederman stated we can have a table at the show to sell stuff as well. This will be in a room upstairs and will be locked at night.

New business:

Show and Tell: Tom Haupricht showed his new Laser 230 with a 56 inch wingspan. Price of the plane was $250 with another $250 into it. He sold some planes at TNT and used that income to buy this plane from Tom. It is an 800 watt electric plane. The weight is around 4 pounds so at 200 watts per pound it will be a screamer.

Information Session: Rick Lederman, co-director of the RC Expo was introduced to the club. He has been the President of the weak signals 6 times. He has been involved in the Toledo show for 41 years and co-director for 28 years. A big Flying Tigers welcome Rick. The Expo started in 1955 in Detroit as a joint effort with the Detroit Radio Control Club and the Weak Signals. In 1959 the Detroit club dropped out and only the Weak Signals continued the Expo. In 1965 it moved to the Lucas County Rec Center. In the early years they had an outdoor flying exhibit as inside space was limited. In 1975 they move to the Toledo Sports Arena but space was still an issue. In 1992 they moved to the Seagate center and have remained there ever since. At present they have 12 members on the exhibit committee. He presented quite a lot of information which I am not including here. If you were not at the meeting you missed out on a great presentation from Rick.

Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.
